The earliest records of the Garlock Family are hard to come by. For the first couple of generations after coming to America, there is still some uncertainty about who was who, and who had which children. I have done my best to sort this out using many references, but things are still cloudy to partly sunny. This essay tries to explain the decisions I finally arrived at.
